| I haven't posted about progree in a while. Part of the delay was not being able to dump pictures off my camera. (recent PC failure at home). Anyway here are a few pics. This is an early shot from a couple weeks ago. Not much had been done yet except I had dumped the fluids, pulled the rad, hoses, battery, hardpipes, etc. At this point I hadn't yet experienced the frustration of removing many of the original harness connectors for the very first time. (I REALLY hate the early style fuel injector connectors. Thank god I'm switching to a 95 EFI harness). And it was the first time for some of the fuel hoses as well. And of particular annoyance was getting the PS belt off. (which I ended up just cutting).
I love my tranny/diff jack. Every DIY'er needs one of these. I've had mine for about 4-5 years now, and it's been a godsend.

Here it is. My first engine pull. It only took ELEVEN years of ownership to get to this point. This was entirely a one-man operation thus far, with the exception of getting my wife's help briefly to operate the hoist for that last little bit of vertical distance while I guided the engine out of the bay.

Anyone recognize what those are? They are Greg Dupree's very first downpipes. "Gen 1" if you will. Non-divorced wastegates. I had them ceramic coated when I first got them and the coating held up amazingly well. I still had to remove the clutch & flywheel before mounting to my engine stand, and that is where 300Degree's Flywheel Stop Tool came in real handy! (Thanks Damon!)

Now for the fun part. Time to strip this baby down and clean it up. (No internal engine work will occur at this time). All the usual deletions and re-routes will be done. And of course all the new upgrade components will be going on (530BBs, MS Manis, 3" Exp DPs, 740ccs w/ 300degree fuel rails, etc.).

My current status is that both turbos, manifolds and downpipes are removed, plenum & fuel rail is removed, EGR valve & plumbing is removed. But I've gotten a little behind in my bagging and tagging. All those misc. brackets and bolts that have come off the car are catching up to me and I'm going to screw myself if I don't keep proper track of it all. LOL
Expect more pictures and progress to follow. J
